How the Dual Career Consultation Works

Initial Contact & Onboarding
The process usually begins through the HR department of the institution where your partner is starting their new role. Dual career needs are often discussed during recruitment or appointment negotiations, and we encourage couples to address the topic proactively.
Your contact person will provide initial information and forward your request directly to the DCNM coordination office. Our Dual Career Coordinator will then contact you to arrange an initial consultation.
Consultation Meeting
Based on your application documents, we will schedule an individual consultation focused on your academic or professional background, your goals, and your expectations regarding employment opportunities in the region.
If needed, we also support you in preparing and refining your application materials.
Research Phase
Following the first consultation, both sides begin researching suitable opportunities. While you explore potential career paths, we share your profile within our network of members and partners.
Our Career Portal Central Germany provides a comprehensive overview of current vacancies within the network.
Please note: Job placement cannot be guaranteed.
Follow-Up Consultation
A second consultation may include further information about relevant contacts, institutions, or career strategies within the region. Existing job search approaches can also be reviewed and refined together.
The Dual Career Service generally concludes once employment has been secured, or after one year at the latest.
We look forward to meeting you in a personal consultation.
